VEEDERSBURG — Francis Marion Allen died at age 47 Tuesday morning in a Lincoln Park, Mich., hospital. Allen, who had many relatives in Fountain and Parke counties, maintained a home in Taylor, Mich. Included among survivors is a brother, Archie Thomas Allen, a Veedersburg resident who serves as town marshal of Hillsboro. The deceased was the son of Andrew and Mary Allen who both preceded him in death. Also surviving are the wife, Mary Ellen Kellar Allen; two sons, Darrell of Ft. Knox, Ky., and Francis Marion Allen Jr.; four sisters, Mrs. Blanche DePlanty of Rockville, Mrs. Ida Harris and Mrs. Kathleen Thomas, both of Veedersburg, and Clella Crouder of the Romney area; two other brothers, Andrew of Tangier and Carl of Sinclair Shores, Mich., and a grandson. Services are pending in Taylor.
